We watched a TV programme about 11 September 2001 last night - people were writing stupid messages on the pavement near the site of the WTC - one girl wrote "The American flag provokes violence" (or words to that effect)....not a very sensible thing to do considering the circumstances, but how true that is !! People object to having foreign flags waved in their faces...it is as though the flag wavers are claiming that they are better than you are, and the Americans seem to do this more than any other nation. Why ? Don't they realise just how provocative this can be ? We are bad enough in this country, but at least we only do it at football matches or on the last night of the Proms.
Another man was claiming that the USA was the best country in the world.....perhaps someone should ask him exactly what they are the best at!!! Baseball, American Football (why football when the ball is hardly ever kicked ?) perhaps, but what else ?
I'm due for an X-ray on my hip today...I've got a suspicion that it will show absolutely fuck all !!
