Right, let's get down to something important. We English all know that the very best Cheddar causes one's tongue to tingle and one's cheeks to be sucked in - this is nothing new to us cheese lovers. But where to get such a delight ?? Do you have a source you would like to share with us ? Come on, don't keep it to yourself, spread the word !
Let's make this two parts. Tell us which is :-
(a) the very best cheddar ever, and
(b) the best cheddar you can get all over the country ie in supermarkets etc.
We are quite lucky in the UK in that our supermarkets generally supply some quite acceptable (non-cheddar) cheeses - albeit mass produced - although of course not as good as in, say, France. However, the supermarket cheddar is seldom up to scratch.
So tell us where we can find the best - and send a one kilo sample for evaluation purposes !!!
Right, now I'm off to have a cup of tea and a slice of fruit cake with jam and cheddar on it !!
