The British Sense of Humour

I was reminded recently of a couple of nick-names which I think reflect the British sense of humour and our love of plays on words.

The first was appended to a lady with whom I used to work. Her name is - or was, before she married - Julie Andrews. She was known in the company as Hilsa. Worked it out yet ? Sound of Music ! The Hills are alive with the.....

The second was also a young lady, this one called Yvonne. Her friends used to call her Yerdraws. Bit more tricky this...... it comes from " 'eave on yer drawers, yer mother's coming !"

Well they made me laugh. Do you know any like this ?
