Social Networking Sites

I don't know about you but I find some of these terribly confusing. Perhaps it's because I'm getting older, but Facebook in particular confuses me. I can't seem to work out what is happening or how to use it. There seem to be lots of chances to do stuff but I find navigating around the site a nightmare, and also I don't trust them to secure my information. So I only use it at a minimum - actually I don't know why I bother, but perhaps it's in the hope that one day I will find the time to learn more about how to use it.
Twitter is amusing - perhaps because of the silly name - and although I only use it to advertise my website, it is easier to understand, even it doesn't really explain how to use it very well.
Squidoo is a sort of social network/miniblog site which I started using recently, again to advertise my website. It has lots on it but is mainly USA based so it tends to be all very nice and proper and patriotic...you know, lets make some cakes and a pumpkin pie and have a coffee morning sort of stuff.
I've also just started using Pinterest which is a site where you can "pin" pictures of whatever you want to a board or boards and also look at other peoples' boards and if you want pin their pictures to your board and comment and "like" things. Quite fun, and again quite good for advertising - I use it to publicize my Zazzle stores.
No doubt there are a lot more - just thought I'd write a bit about those I know.
